Barry Chin/The Boston Globe via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask has agreed to a one-year $3.5 million dollar contract, a team source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.

Rask played in 23 games last season before suffering a lower abdomen/groin strain in a March 3 game versus the Islanders.

The 25-year-old goalie is expected to be the Bruins primary goalie next season because Tim Thomas does not expect to play.

In five NHL seasons, Rask has averaged 2.20 goals-against average to go along with a .926 save percentage.
