New Hurricane Jordan Staal Excited to Play With His Brother

Christian Petersen/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- New Hurricane Jordan Staal says one of the best parts of coming to Carolina is that he'll get to play with his brother Eric.

"We knew the family thing was very intriguing part of this whole thing," Jordan said. "To play against two brothers in the NHL is pretty awesome, but to play alongside your brother, both in the primes of our careers is very, very, exciting."

"As a family, for me and Eric especially, we're ecstatic to have this come together as it did," he added.

Jordan Staal, 23, had spent the previous six seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Last season he scored 25 goals and registered 25 assists.

Eric Staal has spent all eight of his NHL seasons with the Hurricanes. Last season he scored 24 goals and had 46 assists.
