Showers and Thunderstorms for Monday

6/25/2012

Wx Headlines

* Rainy Days and Monday(possible strong t-storms in the afternoon)

* Slightly below average until the end of the week

* Heat and humidity return for the weekend (4th of July weekend?)

This morning we have a short wave trough ahead of the cold front(a disturbance in the middle part of the atmosphere which induces upward motion ahead of it-can contribute to thunderstorm development)Some showers and thunderstorms will pop up this afternoon with the approach of a cold front. Highs will be in the upper 70s.

Tonight a chance of showers early, and then some clearing with lows around 60. Tuesday we'll have a cold pool of air (A region of relatively cold air aloft that represents instability) so maybe a small chance of showers or a t-storm especially when we reach our convective temperature(The approximate temperature that the air near the ground must warm to in order for clouds to develop). Primarily the further north and west you go. Highs in the middle 70s.

We go on a warming trend starting on Wednesday, but it's still seasonable with highs in the lower 80s. Thursday will be in the middle 80s.

Friday a warm front approaches so there will be some clouds in the morning and then our good friend humidity returns with highs around 90. The heat sticks around for the weekend as well with highs around 90.
