6/29/2012

Friday Weather Headlines

  • Thunderstorms this morning

  • Hazy, hot, and humid today and all weekend long with highs in the 90s(2nd heat wave)

  • HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM EDT

THIS EVENING...AND FROM 2 PM TO 7 PM EDT SATURDAY...

* Clearing out Monday; seasonable for 4th of July

This morning we have a warm front working through and also a short wave(a disturbance in the middle part of the atmosphere which induces upward motion ahead of it-can contribute to thunderstorm development). Today wll be hazy, hot, and humid with highs in the middle 90s, but it will feel more like 100 with the heat index. There is also a chance for a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. This will allow for downsloping to occur(winds coming off the mountains-mountains love to zap moisture out of the atmosphere resulting in dry air...dry air warms up quicker than moist air). Even at the shore upper 80s! Not much relief in the afternoon.

Tonight will be muggy with a low around 75.

Tomorrow will be hazy hot and humid again as a cold front stalls on top of us; adding that “fuel to the fire” by sparking up some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon Highs in the middle 90s. Sunday and Monday will be in the lower 90s, so keep an eye to the sky every afternoon, but NO WASHOUTS!

Finally a stronger cold front works through Monday night and we clear out Tuesday going into the 4th of July with seasonable highs in the middle 80s.

Have a great weekend and be sure to follow my updates on my Facebook Weather Page !
